WE Care & Repair is a not-for-profit organisation with charitable status whose guiding purpose is to enable older and disabled people to continue living independently. We aim to help as many people as we can, and to provide an affordable service that reflects individuals’ needs.

Our services are available to homeowners and private tenants in the areas we cover who are over 60 or who are disabled. Some of our services are free and some will involve a charge. We will always let you know of any costs in advance and you can always decide not to have the work done.

Beware of rogue traders

Rogue traders are unscrupulous workmen who often target elderly and vulnerable people. They usually call at your door and dupe the householder. One common trick is to give a quote but then raise the price once work has begun.

The  message on the Avon and Somerset police rogue trader page is clear:

“If in doubt, keep them out”. Recommendations from friends or family are often a good solution, and it’s best to get three quotes from reputable firms – we are very happy to help you with this.

Funding work

There are different sources of funding to pay for home improvement work. Our experienced staffs can also advise you about government grants or benefits to pay for the work, or tell you about other organisations that may be able to help you financially.

WE Care & Repair is a registered society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 with charitable status.
